We went to the bird show on Sat to get another Diamond Dove as the little cock was lonely since the hen died. This is what we came home with! DH fell in love with the macaw. The Meyers Parrot is on my DH's head! Her name is Patti. The Military Macaw is on the right. Tentatively, his name is Mac.
Patti is 11 months old. Mac is 7 months, he was born on July 29, 2010. These birds live anywhere from 50-70 years. Obviously, he will long outlive me and Randy! Our oldest daughter, Hunter has graciously agreed to become his *God Mother* and will take him when we are no longer here.
He is such a hoot! I have found out that at this point in time, he does not like baths! He doesn't take food from our hand yet either, but he is just so loving and affectionate. My dear hubby never asks for anything but there was no way I could tell him *no* he could not have this bird!
