Sewing Get together
On September 29th, 4 of us met a B Sew Inn for a day of just sewing! It was sew much fun. I took my Embellisher and worked on just practicing the punching to make a pillow. I won't post a pick cuz it was just a practice piece to get familar with the machine and honestly, I thought it looked pretty bad! But, as Christopher Nejman says: Practice Practice Practice!
We have decided to meet 2 times a month instead of just once. So for Sept, we will meet the 15th and again on the 29th. I need to make another payment on the Emore soon. Depending on money, I'm still considering upgrading to the Ellure Plus, as it doesn't look like I'll have the available funds for the Ellegante anytime soon. Bleh..... But that's okay. I don't really NEED it, just want it. Unfortunetaly, WANT is a very powerful emotion! Speaking of want, I went to the unveiling of the Ellisimo. OMG...what a machine. I definetly WANT that machine, but don't see how it will ever come about, as the machine is $9K Definetly out of my price range!
I need to start doing some embroidery on my little Brother 150. I want to do some freestanding lace ornaments for Christmas. Right now it is a problem tho, as my laptop is not working really well and I need to reinstall the drivers for the Ultimate Box so I can see and transfer my designs. I'm afraid if I spend too much time on the laptop, I'm going to fry my harddrive as it keeps overheating. Life sucks sometimes...
I wish I could get motivated to start sewing. I want to do it, but the getting started just has no motivation. I've always got an excuse not to start. I need to mow the yard. What a job, my Cub Cadet blew up last week and with all the rain, it's just too tall/wet underneath for the pushmower to go thru it. Then there is the house. It is still a wreck from not getting things put back together when the windows were installed. (mid july) I started on the Zoloft a month ago and it has helped my mental outlook alot (I don't have the urge to KILL!!) but it hasn't done anything for my energy level. Oh well, time will tell. At least I bought 4 more patterns from Pattern Review. Simple patterns that should be easy to adjust to fit, which means alot since even tho I've been sewing off and on for over 30+ years, when I used to make garments, they fit without alterations. Unfortunetly, I never learned that art...
