Not sure how this got here but I'm posting it anyway!

About as simple as it goes... the recipe has got to be at least
70 years old, as it was my godmother's mother's recipe, and Jo
remembers it from grade school -- she's 80 now.

2 c white corn syrup
1 c sugar
2 tsp cream of tarter
Combine and cook to soft ball

Add 4 tsp butter and 1 tsp baking soda; pour over 5 qts popcorn
and make into balls.

Recently, no one in the family has bothered to actually make it
into popcorn balls... it just gets the popcorn mixed in and then
sort of splotted onto cookie sheets, sometimes with a few nuts.
