I'm not immortal!

Last Saturday, Feb 18th, I wasn't feeling well, and spent all afternoon laying down.  Around 4:30 I decided to take my blood pressure as I had these strange, indescribable feelings.  BP was 194/102...too high!  I gave it 15 minutes, took it again and it was even higher, 15 minutes after that I took it again, 218/118.  Told my husband, I needed to go to the ER as it was just getting higher.

I drove us to the ER and by then, it was even higher!  I have never had a BP problem.  They ran EKG's, put me on med's to reduce my BP, did an Echo and kept me.  Released me about 24 hours later, said to see my Dr and a Cardiologist.  Well, I saw my Dr on Wed.  She put me on BP med and called to get the test results of all they did to me.  She called me Thurs and said my Echo came back good.  I had a little valve leakage, but that was totally normal for a woman my age.  Said to not worry about seeing a cardiologist.  She knows I don't have insurance and am on a tight, fixed income.

Still waiting for Hubby's VA disability to be approved, which if it is, 100%, it will give me medical coverage.  We've only been waiting a year.  Now to figure out how to pay the hospital bill which I figure will be at least 10K.  Does it ever stop?

Hope that medication works for you. High p.b. is no fun. Wish you the best.
